Building a home may feel overwhelming, but with Oakland Homes, you’ll always know what comes next. Here’s how we guide you from our first conversation to moving day (and beyond):

Connect, Dream, and Design Your Home

When you reach out, we’ll set up an initial meeting in our Brandon, SD office.

 

Once you’re ready to move forward, we’ll schedule a drafting meeting to begin drawing your custom floor plan. We’ll also help you choose the perfect lot and location for your new home.

Bid & Budget

With your plans and preferences in place, we send the details to our network of trusted vendors and subcontractors to create an accurate cost estimate.

 

This step takes about 3–4 weeks and ensures you know exactly what to expect.

Secure Financing

When you’re ready, we’ll finalize paperwork and work with your lender to set your construction loan in motion, clearing the way for your new build to begin.

Make Your Selections

You’ll have weekly selection meetings (with a little homework!) to choose everything from exterior finishes to interior details.

 

We’ll use a variety of tech tools to track daily progress, share photos and videos, and preview what’s coming up next—perfect for clients building from afar.
